Case study:Achates Fundraises: World Heart Beat

Achates is an organisation that puts its heart where its mouth is. We will forever be grateful for their expertise in helping us navigate our capital campaign alongside the most extreme financial pressures and stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic. Achates has supported us to emerge as a strong, resilient and adaptable organisation ready to serve our community in a post COVID-19 world.

World Heart Beat Music Academy (WHB) mission is to break down barriers into music for diverse and disadvantaged young people in Wandsworth and Lambeth. Founded in 2009 in an old, converted warehouse in Wandsworth to address the lack of free and affordable music tuition available to South London’s most disadvantaged young people, WHB has since become a leading music education hub, known for their youth-led approach and track record of making music education truly inclusive. From May 2020 to March 2021 Achates provided interim Development Director support, driving the fundraising for WHB’s COVID-response programme and their capital campaign to establish a new concert and education centre in the prestigious new Embassy Gardens development at Nine Elms, one of Europe’s most significant regeneration projects. Achates has continued to support WHB, focusing on the roll-out of their digital programmes, piloted since COVID-19, nationally.
