Outside Edge Theatre Company (OETC) is the UK’s only theatre company and participatory arts charity focused on improving the lives of people affected by any form of addiction, including their families and champions. The organisation drives meaningful impact on the social welfare of its community, with 89% of participants reporting that their engagement strengthens their recovery.

Whilst OETC had developed a strong track record of fundraising, its recognition of the challenging funding landscape had mobilised the company to reconsider its future funding opportunities and look outside of these sources to identify the scope to grow both contributed and earned income.

Achates worked with OETC to review and assess the scope to develop and grow its corporate and individual giving, as well as interrogating the potential for new earned income generation. Through a series of workshops which drew together staff and Trustees, Achates supported the organisation to consider its assets and how it could take a strengths-based and audience-led approach to further its purpose whilst driving new income streams. This support enabled the organisation to begin to model innovative products which could drive further income and deliver a more robust and sustainable business model for the future.
