Achates Recruits and Brings Change worked with the Chair and Trustees of First Story, a leading creative-writing charity for young people, to recruit a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation. 

We conducted a far-reaching and dynamic search for candidates across the literature and wider cultural and charity sector with the skills, experience and interests that were aligned with First Story’s ambitious and far-reaching impact strategy. The process resulted in a range of qualified candidates coming forward for consideration, and following a competitive interview process, a CEO was appointed with the drive, determination and expertise to lead First Story into the future.

The recruitment for the role of CEO followed a previous process conducted by Achates for First Story to recruit a new Head of Development to work as a key part of the organisation’s senior management team to support its development and to lead on fundraising.  Following a wide-reaching search, an exciting and qualified candidate joined the First Story team to lead that critical area of work.
