Sector Survey – understanding resilience and readiness for change

The Achates Organisational Readiness Sector Survey

The UK culture and heritage sector is facing unprecedented financial pressure, and standard business models are no longer fit for purpose. To move forward, we must build organisations centred not just on sustainability, but on resilience with integrity.

Over recent months, the Achates team has been hosting roundtables throughout the UK to listen directly to colleagues across the sector. While we are incredibly inspired by the proactive steps many organisations are taking, we are also hearing about significant systemic barriers holding leadership teams back.

To build a clearer picture of these challenges, we have launched the Organisational Readiness Sector Survey. We want to understand the real barriers your organisation is facing and champion your voices collectively to drive meaningful change.

Survey Overview

  • Time commitment: Approximately 5 minutes

  • Target respondent: One response per organisation, completed by a executive leader or trustee with strategic oversight.

  • Privacy & Confidentiality: Your contact details will remain private with Achates. All published findings, quotes, and data will be fully anonymised.

Why Your Input Matters

We want to ensure every voice across the cultural and heritage sectors is represented. Your insights will directly inform upcoming policy papers shared with national funding bodies and arts councils. Additionally, the data gathered will shape our upcoming Collective Resilience event, hosted in partnership with Shakespeare’s Globe in spring 2027.

Help us map the path forward for our sector:
