In September 2025, Achates worked with Theatre Royal Stratford East in its 140th anniversary year to appoint its new Development Director, under the leadership of a new Executive team. This iconic and much-loved theatre required a skilled fundraising professional who could take the lead on delivering a fundraising strategy which used the TRSE’s refreshed organisational purpose to increase its financial resilience and growth.

This role unsurprisingly generated a great deal of interest, and we led a series of carefully tailored approaches and conversations with a range of deeply engaged candidates. TRSE was ultimately able to appoint a passionate professional with experience at high-profile London cultural organisations, stepping into their first Development Director role.
