Case study:Achates Recruits: Royal Academy of Dance – Director of Development

In summer 2022, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) approached Achates Recruits to find their new Director of Development, a crucial appointment for realising their creative ambitions as they embed themselves in their new venue following a major capital campaign. The new Director would be responsible for leveraging the relationships RAD had built across the fundraising spectrum through their capital campaign, but particularly with high level patrons and statutory funders, ensuring that these income sources became a source of ongoing and growing revenue funding.
Through advertising and extensive search, Achates Recruits were able to provide a high quality longlist of Director level fundraisers from across the cultural sector, and a shortlist of outstanding candidates, all of whom had experience of converting capital donors to revenue supporters at major performing arts venues, leading to a successful appointment in August 2022.
