No. 8 – Celebrating Ten Years of Achates with Ten of Our Greatest Achievements

Cultural sector consultancy, #Achates, was founded in April 2014 with the aim of making high quality consultancy available to all. Every day we recruit cultural sector workers, fundraise and support commercial income generation, develop organisational and regional strategies, and support organisational change, but our purpose has always been to go beyond our paid work and to give back to our sector. And as we reach the end of our 10th anniversary year, we are celebrating ten of our key achievements and social value created.

On the night of Friday 13th March 2015, Director of Achates, Caroline McCormick, was chatting with friend and philanthropist, Aliceson Robinson. When Aliceson spotted news of the fire destroying Battersea Arts Centre on social media, they determined to launch a campaign to rebuild it. Seeing the hashtag, ‘Phoenix’, they decided to call it The Phoenix Campaign. Calling in friends at Spektrix, the campaign was a huge success raising more than £300K towards the redevelopment of the much loved BAC which is now celebrating its 50th anniversary year.

Look out for a special announcement in our 9th offering next Thursday as we continue to celebrate ten years of Achates!
